On Monday, July 25, 2022, our dear friend Kevin “HolyMan” Lawler passed away unexpectedly. For those who had the privilege of knowing him, they knew Kevin as a friend through work, through games, or through good wine (and almost always all three). Kevin joined Riot in June as the Global Head of Community Management after most recently serving as the Director of  Community Partnerships at Twitch, where we had the honor of getting to know him, working with him, and becoming friends.

Kevin brought enthusiasm and a bright spirit everywhere he went, and it is a comfort to know that so many of you got to know him over these past several years. His passion for community and his love of mentoring others was a huge boost to every community he served.

His genuinely good nature, lust for adventure, and deep empathy for others made him a great friend, a wonderful mentor, and the best colleague you could ask for, and leaves an immeasurable loss. As he was also a deeply loved son and brother, our hearts are with his family during this difficult time.

Kevin, you forged a hell of a path for us all. We hope the view and the wine is great up there. Give Foley all the pets for us.
